Communications Internship

We are a growing network of 1500 energy cooperatives who develop and manage jointly owned renewable energy production facilities including wind turbines, solar PV panels and hydro power stations. As a federation we represent the voice of our members towards EU policy makers, foster international collaboration and provide services that help energy cooperatives to run and grow their business. participates in several EU projects and currently employs 9 people. We are looking for an intern who can assist our communications work, ideally for the period February 2020 - September 2020. As an intern, you will be employed in Brussels/Berchem and work in an English-speaking environment.

Attention: This vacancy is a replacement assignment. You will replace our Communications Officer who is on maternity leave.

Your job

  • You will assist our project manager on the WiseGRID project to execute an effective communication campaign. You will manage the social media channels (including Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn) and write blog posts on project related issues.
  • You will travel to Spain, Greece and Italy to participate in workshops on smart grid integration technology and on how citizens can engage in smart energy systems.
  • You will support the production of interactive videos.
  • You will co-organise and participate in a big conference in Brussels in June 2020.
  • You will coordinate the making of a final brochure for the WiseGRID project.

Your profile

  • You are an outstanding team player who is ready to work in an international environment.
  • You have a strong will for goal achievement and a high efficiency rate.
  • You can work independently and proactively, handle responsibilities and respect deadlines.
  • You have outstanding communication and English language skills, both written and spoken.
  • You are well experienced with social media and web platforms.
  • You can work with traditional graphic design tools such as Adobe InDesign.
  • You are willing to travel within Europe.
  • You are interested in renewable and sustainable energy. Understanding of the cooperative business model is a plus.
  • You have EU citizenship.
  • You are available full-time (38 hours/week) from February to September 2020. A flexible working schedule can be discussed.
