Overall assessment

There is no mention of energy communities in Ireland's National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) provides grant funding for setting up energy communities through its Energy Community Programme. However, the funding seems to emanate exclusively from national funding sources, as there is no mention of co-funding of this scheme via Cohesion policy and Recovery funds, despite the fact that SEAI's budget as a whole does receive EU co-funding (evidenced in its annual reports), possibly for other schemes it manages e.g. for energy efficiency of households and companies.
