The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) is a yearly event organised by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy and the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA). Its policy conference, the biggest event in Europe on sustainable energy issues, is a unique opportunity for stakeholders to come together, debate new policy developments, and build connections. As usual, REScoop.eu is out in full force at EUSEW! We are an official EUSEW 2026 partner organisation, a recognition of our leading role in the clean energy policy debate in the EU. Our colleague Chloé Verlinden is a young ambassador and will contribute to Europe's energy discussions until June 2027. Additionally, Suzanne Renard, board member of REScoop.eu and head of investment at Énergie Partagée, has been nominated for the EUSEW Women in Energy Award! Members of the REScoop.eu team will also be present at three policy sessions:

 

Awards Ceremony

Tuesday 9 June - 10:00-11:00 CEST

The European Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding individuals and projects for their achievements in clean energy transition. During the Awards Ceremony the high-level jury will announce the winners in the three categories: SMEs Driving Energy Efficiency, Local Energy Action, and Women in Energy.

 

Key lessons from the social climate plans on targeting vulnerable household

Tuesday 9 June - 14:30-16:00 CEST

In this session, experts will review EU Social Climate Plans and their drafting process, assessing how well they target energy and transport poverty, remaining gaps and lessons for future EU funding.

Europe’s powerhouse: energy communities and affordable housing for a just Energy Union

Unlocking the potential of EU funds to drive a community-led, clean and competitive transition

This session is about shaping EU public funding streams (e.g Cohesion Policy) to more effectively support energy communities - contributing towards local resilience, energy security and driving competitiveness for SMEs.

A new social contract: delivering a fast and fair decarbonisation for EU buildings

Thursday 11 June - 16:00-17:30 CEST

This session will explore the 'Social Contract,' also known as Social Energy Services, a business and financial model that makes it possible to decarbonise buildings for low-income households without raising their rent. The idea is simple: combine private investment with public support to make energy‑efficient upgrades, such as a new heat pump or better insulation, while keeping housing costs stable.
