REScoop.eu is leaving Twitter

After 14 years of activity on Twitter/X, REScoop.eu has decided to leave the platform. 

Staying on Twitter is no longer aligned with our values. Since Elon Musk purchased it, hate speech on the platform has increased 50%. Twitter is also the social media platform with the highest rate of disinformation. Recent political upheavals in the United States, Elon Musk's joining the government, his political use of the platform and his far-right salute on the day of the inauguration were enough to convince us Twitter is no longer a platform we wish to be on. 

Changes in the platform’s algorithms since Elon Musk’s take-over also gradually succeeded in cutting us from our audience. For over a year, we have witnessed a gradual transformation of our timeline as the algorithm promotes content deemed viral – often far-right. Posts by our allies and members now have less visibility, while climate change misinformation spreads on the platform.
