Community coaching in Czech Republic
REScoop.eu joins forces with the Czech Republic National Network of Local Action Groups to train 26 leaders on community energy
From 21-23 June, REScoop.eu finally got back in the field after more than 1,5 years of being confined to our homes – and for an exciting mission: Training 26 Local Action Group leaders in Czech Republic on the topic of community energy!
Located in the German-Czech border town of Varnsdorf, the Pivovar Kocour brewery provided the perfect setting to deep-dive into different activities around community energy – including good practices, storytelling, stakeholder mapping, project planning, collaboration with municipalities, governance and legal/regulatory aspects.
Discussions with the participants revolved around how to leverage emerging opportunities in Czech Republic, how to find the right angle to get your own community interested and engaged in the topic of community energy, down to specific project ideas and what would be needed to make the next steps happen. Towards the end of the workshop, participants formulated concrete next steps that they would take with their local communities to explore the possibility of setting up community energy projects.
The workshop was co-financed by the European Climate Foundation and the National Rural Network in Czech Republic and builds on the Interreg NWE ECCO project learnings. We are incredibly thankful to our partners for these three days of joint learning and exchange, and look forward to our future collaboration and to following these community leaders and their projects!
