7 June 2021- It's with great excitement that we kicked off the Horizon 2020 project SCCALE 20-30-50 today! True to its name, the project aims to significantly scale up the number and activities of energy communities in Europe.

Together with partners from 5 countries - including our members Enercoop, Electra, Energie Samen, ZEZ and Ecopower, but also our partners Energy Cities, TU Delft, the City of Leuven (BE) and the town of Poreč (HR) - we will explore community energy activities including building renovation, district heating, collective self-consumption, financing solutions, and more!

SCC Ale partners

The project has set itself ambitious objectives: Our aim is to set up at least 25 energy communities over the next four years.
Over the coming years, each of the pilot communities will implement proven citizen engagement methodologies, which will be assessed and improved through the collaboration with TU Delft. The objective is to use the insights from the SCCALE 20-30-50 project to help exponentially grow energy communities in Europe.

We'll be launching the project website soon - stay tuned for the next steps!
