Brussels – 29/01/2020

At the end of April, the European citizen energy network will gather at the DJH Youth Hostel in Frankfurt am Main (Germany) to discuss, network and learn from community energy leaders, and participate in dynamic forward looking workshops. This three days conference is hosted by REScoop.eu in partnership with Bündnis Bürgerenergie e.V (BBEn), DGRV and the INTERREG ECCO project. This year’s conference will focus on the challenges and opportunities for energy communities that come along with the recently adopted Clean Energy for All Europeans package.

Moreover, REScoop representatives from all over Europe will attend the general assembly of REScoop.eu, the European federation of citizen energy cooperatives. The association will there present its annual report and discuss important advocacy issues that affect citizen energy communities at the local level.

Today, REScoop.eu represents over 1500 energy cooperatives who develop and manage jointly owned renewable energy production facilities including wind turbines, solar PV panels and hydro power stations. As a federation we represent the voice of our members towards EU policy makers, foster international collaboration and provide services that help energy cooperatives to run and grow their business. By pushing for community energy at the EU level, REScoop.eu wants to lead the energy transition to energy democracy. All citizens should share in the profits.
