Overall assessment

Romania’s allocations under the EU’s Cohesion Policy for the 2021 to 2027 period amount to approximately EUR 31.14 billion. Two Operational Programmes (OPs) are dedicated to climate and environmental objectives - The Sustainable Development Operational Programme (SDOp) and The Just Transition Operational Programme (JTOp). The Romanian OPs do not include mentions or targeted support to RECs or CECs. The Just Transition Operational Programme is the only programme that prioritises the installation of renewable energy production at the household level.
