Overall assessment

Romania is a beneficiary of €1391.6 million from the Modernisation Fund (MF). The funds will be used for the construction of 8 photovoltaic parks and two combined cycle gas turbine plants, which will replace lignite power plants with renewables and gas for power generation and for the modernisation of electricity networks. The Romanian MF does not envisage any support for RECs or CECs.
